In ufology, a contactee is someone who claims to have been contacted by aliens for the purpose of carrying out some kind of an assignment. Usually the assignment involves spreading some sort of privileged information provided by the aliens. The contactee always presents this information as a revelation or something profound which originates from a higher authority.
Objective assessment has consistently shown that there has never been any truly original or substantial information provided by any contactee. Furthermore, the supposed technical elements of their stories also bear greater resemblance to science fiction than science fact. Contactees differ from abductees in that they claim to be willing participants in the alien's plan, and do not tell stories of forcible confinement or medical experimentation.
